I settled at Pouyau de Boisset in 2002 with my husband. I’m very proud to own this estate that has a long history of being managed and run by women only. Pouyau de Boisset belonged to the Maison Forte de Boisset, a fortified manor house built in the 15th century, which even appeared in the Cocks & Féret wine directory as a Premier Cru Bourgeois.

Technical informations

Village: Berson

Total winegrowing area: 9 hectares

Winemaking and ageing:

Fermentation for 10 days then gentle maceration for up to 3 weeks. Running off and pressing of pomace before blending. Malolactic fermentation and aging in concrete vats.

Blend:
57 % Merlot, 35.5 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 7.5 Malbec

Tasting comments:

Deep garnet in color. On the nose, subtle noses of fresh fruit and red berries. Full-bodied tanginess with notes of licorice – a harmonious, generous wine.
